Frequently Asked Questions
When & how do you list “new inventory”?
Quilt listings go live on the WEBSITE and Instagram every Sunday at :
4 Pacific - 5 Mountain Time - 6 Central - 7 Eastern
A post will go up on Instagram letting everyone know that the quilts are available for purchase. Each quilt’s listing will have the full description/photos/information - scroll down. Purchasing is simple - you put the quilt in your cart and check out, just like any other website. Our secure checkout provider is still PayPal.
Do you offer lay-a-way payments?
Yes, we now offer lay-a-way through After Pay. You simply select “After Pay” at check out. Your purchase is then spread out over 4 easy installments, with no interest applied. You get to buy now, but pay later. Your quilt(s) or other items will still ship at the time of purchase.
Do you ship international?
Right now, we ship to Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Sweden, and Canada. We also offer FREE SHIPPING to the contiguous 48 states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. We will ship to Alaska and Hawaii upon request. Please reach out for a price quote.
If you are really interested in a quilt and do not live in the contiguous USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, Sweden, or New Zealand: feel free to reach out via email or on social media, so we can get a shipping quote for you. We will continue to work towards international shipping — and will let everyone know when this service is available for additional countries on a consistent basis. Thank you for understanding! IF you have us ship international, once the quilts leave our hands, they are no longer our responsibly. We do not have control of the shipping companies in the USA or internationally. We are not liable for lost, domestic or international packages.
Can I make an offer on a quilt?
Absolutely! All you have to do is use the “OFFER FORM” tab in header of our website and fill out the easy information form. You can also send us a direct message on Instagram or fill out the contact us form at the top of our website. Yes, 3 easy ways to make offers on our quilts - because we love getting reasonable offers. We know the value of these quilts through research and years of handling them, but we know everyone likes a discount. ;) Send those offers our way!
** PLEASE NOTE making an offer does not secure your quilt. We do our very best to respond to offers immediately, in order for you to be able to “check out” at your offer amount, if accepted. HOWEVER, if your offer has not been accepted and the item has not been listed as RESERVED, understand that the quilt is not held. Utilize the offer system at your own risk, of potentially losing the quilt to someone who is/will check out at the full price, in the meantime. These are one-of-a-kind quilts and they are first come first serve.
Can offers be used with discount codes and sales?
No - offers and discounts/sales cannot be combined. If you use both while checking out, you will be refunded and have to check out again choosing one or the other.
Why are some of your quilts listed as “RESERVED”?
Any quilts listed as “RESERVED” are sold to a specific individual and are pending sale!!! Please do not try to purchase these quilts as they are meant for a certain customer and we will not accept anyone (other than the person on the listing) trying to purchase those items while they are reserved. We appreciate your understanding. :)
Are your quilts new/modern?
All the quilts we sell fall in the vintage or antique category. We do not sell new quilts and we do not make quilts ourselves. We save old quilts and make sure to find them new, happy homes! If by chance there is ever a modern quilt is in the shop, it is made very clear that it is modern.
Are the quilts Vintage or Antique?
Each quilt is different, so some are older than others. We clearly indicate when a quilt is vintage or antique. Vintage is considered 50+ years old and antique quilts are 100+ years old. We do our very best to share every detail we know about each quilt.
Are the quilts washed and dried?
Yes, is almost always the answer! We delicately wash and air dry each quilt. If there is an unwashed quilt it is indicated in the listing. Sometimes our quilts are given “sun baths”. The processing and care of each quilt is in the detailed description.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial for our soaking, washing, and drying process: Cleaning Vintage Quilts (the Whippoorwill way)
What is your “rating” system?
All of our quilts are rated on a scale from 1-5 stars. 1 star is the worst, also known as a cutter quilt. 5 star is the very best condition, in other words little to no flaws. That being said, please keep in mind that when buying vintage or antique items you are purchasing something that is pre-loved. Vintage and antique quilts are sold as-is. Most vintage and/or antique textiles show some sign of wear. We do our very best to photograph/explain in depth the condition of each quilt. If you have any questions about a particular quilt please contact us before making your purchase. We are happy to answer any questions you might have or to help clarify any item descriptions.
Will you ship direct to a “quilt coat” maker?
Yes - of course! We are happy to ship direct to the coat maker of your choosing. Please let us know at check out, via email, or direct message on Instagram, that you want your quilt shipped direct, at the time of your purchase. We will follow up with you for any additional information we need for the shipment!
Return Policy & Vintage Disclaimer:
We sell vintage & antique textiles. Please be aware that these are in pre-loved condition. We do our very best to document & photograph any issues that we find. That being said, it is possible to miss issues on textiles. At this time, we do not take returns or exchanges. Please review full descriptions & photos before buying. You are buying all items “as is”. That being said, please reach out if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase from our shop.
