Whippoorwill Quilts was born in December 2018, from a love of old things and the stories they carry! We search for vintage quilts, feed sacks, fabrics, quilt tops and collectible textiles—pieces that have already lived a life and deserve to keep being loved…
And they are getting harder and harder to find.
We think of ourselves as more than collectors or sellers. We’re stewards of these old textile collections — finding them, saving them, learning their stories when we can, and helping them find their way into the hands of the next person who will appreciate them.

We are so happy you found our quilt shop! We sell genuine, handmade vintage & antique quilts, as well as collective textiles. We find these vintage and antique collectibles all over the country, clean & process each quilt, top, or feed/flour sack, and list them for you every week. Restocks are announced on Instagram and Facebook as soon as we know the restock date. Every quilt & textile leaves our shop ready to use and enjoy. Antique 1927 "Franklin WBFC" Orange Lemoyne Star Quilt
Make: Hand Quilted & Hand Pieced
Dimensions: 71” by 86”
SPI: 13
Condition: 5 Star Condition
Details: This is what we would call a lightweight quilt! The background of the quilt is soft white. Each star block is 13” across. The SPI is insane, as well as the excellent hand embroidery in the blocks. The hand embroidery of the names are in a light-grey thread throughout. The frame on all four sides is thin and in matching orange cotton. The binding is hand applied and is a slightly darker shade of orange. There are 20 total star blocks with names like “Minnie, Viola, Glady, etc.” One block, close to the center says “Franklin WBFC 1927”. There are no holes, tears, or seam pops. We also found no spots/stains — this is a phenomenal quilt.
This quilt has been carefully washed and air dried. Please view all pictures before buying.

Vintage Cream and Pale Orange "Maple Leaf" Quilt TOP
Dimensions: 71” x 83“
Make: Machine Pieced
Condition: 5 Stars
Details: This quilt top is large and all the blocks are made of the same two cotton colors: Cream and Pale Orange. The background is cream. The Maple Leaves are all Pale Orange. There are no tears or seam pops. We also found no stains.
This top has not been washed or spot treated. It is not recommended to wash tops until they are completed quilts. Please see all pictures before buying! Photos are considered part of the description.
Lot of 4 MATCHING Large Feed Sack Remnants
Print: All of the pieces are matching floral print on black print — 4 LARGE pieces total. It appears someone already started a project.

1950's Red and Green Log Cabin Quilt - Prefect for Christmas!!
Hand Quilted & Machine Pieced
79 × 81 - 6 SPI - 5 Star Condition
Details: This quilt is what we would call lightweight quilts. There is no batting shift or lumps in it. The logs in the quilt design are 1.5” wide. The front is made of green, red, and yellow! This is the quilt that has a crochet pieced, signed & dated “1950”. The backside is striped with matching/coordinating materials 9” wide stripes. The stripes on the backside of this one are yellow and green fabric. The binding is front to back, hand applied. We found no flaws. Side note: you could remove the crochet pieced if wanted, it is applied on top of the completed quilt. The quilts have been carefully washed and air dried. Please view all pictures before buying.

Vintage Turquoise Feed Sack "Ozark Puzzle" Quilt
Make: Hand Quilted & Hand Pieced
Dimensions: 74” by 81”
SPI: 7 to 8
Condition: 5 Star Condition
Details: This is what we would call a lightweight quilt! The background and back fabric are matching white. The blocks are made with a variety of cotton prints, some of which are feed sacks. The main cotton print is a turquoise floral that is in all the large “Ozark Puzzles”. The small “Ozark Puzzles” are a variety of cotton prints. The small “Ozark Puzzle” blocks are 10” across and the big Ozark Puzzle are 16” across. The small snowballs are only 4”. The binding is back to front, hand applied. There are no holes, tears, or seam pops. We found only one teeny-tiny spot on the top edge. And one seam pop on the binding, also very small, and easily mended. This is a phenomenal quilt. This quilt has been carefully washed and air dried. Please view all pictures before buying.

Vintage Dusty-Rose "Many Trips Around the World" Quilt
Make: Hand Quilted & Hand Pieced

Condition: 5 Star Condition
Details: This is what we would call a lightweight quilt! The background of the quilt is soft white. The tiny squares measure approximately 1.5”. The dusty-rose colored cotton is the frame on all four sides, as well as the third row of each block, throughout. And the centers of each block are all yellow. Otherwise, there is a wide variety of colors and printed cottons throughout. Some of the cotton prints may be feed sack. There are no holes, tears, or seam pops. We found a teeny-tiny spot/stain on the front. There are a few spots on the back of the quilt, best seen in the full back photograph — but this is a phenomenal quilt. This quilt has been carefully washed and air dried. Please view all pictures before buying.
